Our community libraries make the library service more accessible for people who find it difficult to get into Town.
There are four community libraries around the island: Western Community Library at St Saviour's Community Centre; at La Nouvelle Maraitaine in Vale; at Rosaire Court in St Peter Port; and at the Salvation Army Community Centre on the Bridge (see map). All are easy to find and have plenty of parking.
The community libraries offer fiction and non-fiction books, large print, audiobooks and DVDs. You'll find a warm welcome from our friendly volunteers, and regular events for children and adults. Drop in to enjoy the library service without the hassle of going into Town. Click the locations above for opening hours.
COMMUNITY RETURNS: If you can't get to town, return your Library loans at St Martin's Community Centre (find the large green returns bin in the entrance area, open all day), or at the Salvation Army Community Centre on the Bridge (find the clear box on the table in the Community Library area via the accessible entrance in the car park, open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 9.30-14:00. Saturday 9.30-12:00. Closed all day Thursday and Sunday).
Contact Jackie Burgess on 720392 or email [email protected] if you have any questions about our community libraries, or click here to find out more about volunteering opportunities.
