Reading Group: Klara and the Sun (Saturday)

Saturday 12 February - 15.30-17.00

In February the Reading Group will discuss Klara and the Sun, the latest novel from Nobel Prize-winning author Kazuo Ishiguro.

From her place in the store, Klara, an Artificial Friend with outstanding observational qualities, watches carefully the behavior of those who come in to browse, and of those who pass on the street outside. She remains hopeful that a customer will soon choose her, but when the possibility emerges that her circumstances may change forever, Klara is warned not to invest too much in the promises of humans.

In Klara and the Sun, Kazuo Ishiguro looks at our rapidly changing modern world through the eyes of an unforgettable narrator to explore a fundamental question: what does it mean to love?

The Reading Group is free and you don't need to book. For more information or to reserve a copy of the book call 720392 or email Adam on [email protected]

Can't make it on Saturday? Why not come on Wednesday instead.

All events and activities are continuing as normal. If you’re attending one of our events, it's recommended that you take a lateral flow test beforehand wherever possible. Face coverings are mandatory in the Library. See our full COVID guidelines here.
