Calling local writers!

To celebrate National Novel Writing Month, we're hosting a creative writing 'Open Mic Night' on Wednesday 1 December. Read your work aloud in front of a friendly, like-minded audience - a short story, an extract from a novel, or whatever it is you're working on. Meet other writers and get inspired by each other.

Click 'Register' to book your free ticket for the event. Then, if you'd like a slot at the microphone, submit your work to us using our online submission form here.

The maximum length for the open mic slot is 1500 words, and please note this event is for prose, not poetry.

For more information, email Adam on [email protected] or call 720392.

All events and activities are continuing as normal. If you’re attending one of our events, it's recommended that you take a lateral flow test beforehand wherever possible. Face coverings are strongly recommended at all Library events and activities where it's practical and reasonable to wear one. See our full COVID guidelines here.
