Silent Book Club

*SILENT BOOK CLUB RESUMES ON THURSDAY 25 SEPTEMBER*

Silent Book Club is a global community of readers, with events in 50 countries around the world. SBC started in San Francisco in 2012 with a couple of friends reading in companionable silence at their neighborhood bar. A way to enjoy books without the homework, SBC welcomes all readers, whether you want to bring ebooks, audiobooks, comic books - it's just a case of bring-your-own.

At the Guille-Allès Library Silent Book Club, we meet on the last Thursday of every month. We meet between 18:00-20:00 in the Dorey Room on the second floor - with extra armchairs and cushions to help you get comfy. Simply, come along and read quietly together - no discussion required.

We'll ring the bell at 18:15 and again at 19:45 to mark silent reading time. Before this there will be time to chat to fellow readers if you wish. It's free and everyone is welcome. Refreshments are kindly provided by The Women’s Institute Guernsey who introduced the Library team to the idea of a Silent Book Club here in Guernsey.

*Please note there is no Silent Book Club in December.
