You can reserve any item that is on loan. Please note there is a charge for this service, and a valid Library card is required to place reservations.
Reservations placed online are not available the same day. If you want to reserve an item that is not on loan please contact us.
You can reserve items in several ways:
Call in to the Library and fill out a reservation form.
Call the main Library number (+44 1481 720392) with the details of the item you wish to reserve. Details may also be sent by email to email@example.com or by post.
Items may also be reserved via the online catalogue. Search the online catalogue for the item you want and click the 'reserve this item' button. You will need your library card number. Please note that at present you may only reserve items that are already in stock at the Library via the online service.
You will be notified by post when the item is ready for you to collect.
You can request any item that is not already in stock. Items may be purchased if they are considered suitable to add to stock, otherwise please see more about Inter-Library Loans.

You will be notified by email or post either when the item is ready for collection or if we have considered it unsuitable to be added to our stock.
Most libraries in the UK co-operate with each other to lend and borrow books. Articles from newspapers and periodicals may also be obtained.
You may request:
Non-fiction, both old and new
Theses and dissertations
Periodical and newspaper articles
Orchestral and vocal music sets (advance bookings recommended)
It is not possible, however, to borrow non-book materials such as CDs and DVDs.
