Monday 20 July

Fairytale Musical Mashup with Gareth P Jones

13:00-14:00 in the Hayward Room.

Author/performer/composer Gareth P Jones brings his twisted fairytales (illustrated by Loretta Schauer) to life with music and silliness. This interactive musical event features original sing-along songs, live music, fast rapping, funky ukuleles, heartfelt ballads & frenetic storytelling. Most suitable for ages 4-11, but made to entertain all ages.

Little Puffin Signing

10:30-11:00 in the Children's Library.

Come along to the Children's Library for a signing session all about Picnics! There will be books, songs and toys to help with learning the signs. This session is suitable for children age 2+ and can be tailored for any primary school age children who want to learn to sign. Booking is essential due to limited places

Teen Maker Club

15:30-17:00 in the Fab Lab.

Join us at the Fab Lab for Teen Maker Club!
Calling all creative teenagers aged 11-15! Unlock your inner 'maker'
and explore the world of crafting with like-minded friends this summer at the Fab Lab. Get ready for five weeks of exciting craft activities in a small group, as we dive into a different craft each week. Discover the joy of air-dry pottery, embroidery, crochet, paper sculpture and felt-crafting.
The Maker Club comprises of 5 sessions, one each week over the summer and costs £7 per session. This includes all teaching and craft materials.

Board Games Day

10:00-16:00 in the Children's Library.

Come along to the Children's Library for a day of dice rolls, strategy, and fun. Drop in and play, with board games available to borrow just like a book. Suitable for all ages and no booking required.

Sensory Stories

11:00-12:00 in the Dorey Room.

An hour of fun and interactive stories designed for primary age children with additional physical, learning or sensory needs and their families. Wheelchair accessible. No booking required.

Turbo Tots

10:00-10:45 in the Hayward Room.

Stories, songs and rhymes for children aged 1-3. Come along for a morning of fun! No booking required.

Community Library Crafts

9:30-10:30 and 10:30-11:30 at La Nouvelle Maraitaine Community Library.

Come along to La Nouvelle Maraitaine for a crafting session and make a paper ice lolly! Most suitable for children aged 3-10 but everyone is welcome.

This summer meet likeminded crafters and discover new projects. In this session you will make donut magnets.

The Maker Club comprises of 5 sessions, one each week over the summer and costs £7 per session. This includes all teaching and craft materials.

Baby Social

10:30-11:30 in the Dorey Room.

Songs and rhymes for under 1s, followed by sensory play and tea & chat for the grown ups. No booking required.

Chatterbooks

15:45-16:45 in the Dorey Room.

Come and join Chatterbooks for an hour of activities, games and snacks! No need to read a specific book or bring anything, just turn up and join in the fun. Most suitable for children aged 8-12.

Colouring Takeover

10:00-12:00 in the Hayward Room.

Join us for a fun-filled colouring session in the Hayward Room on the second floor of the Library. Come for a quick doodle or stay all morning—the choice is yours! Colouring sheets and pencils will be provided. Open to all ages, no need to book.

Let's Play in Guernesiais

14:30-15:30 in the Hayward Room.

Join Guernsey Language Commission for a fun-filled session where children can discover Guernesiais. Through games, songs, and interactive activities, young learners will explore new words and phrases while finding out more about the island’s unique heritage and culture.
This engaging event is a great opportunity to learn something new, have fun with friends, and celebrate the island's beautiful language. No previous knowledge is needed - just bring your enthusiasm and get ready to say a few words in Guernesiais!

Suitable for children aged 7-11. The session is free and booking is essential due to limited places.

Join us for a special rhyme time and treasure hunt in the garden at St Saviours Community Centre! Search for the book characters hiding in the garden, and enjoy songs, stories, and sunshine.

Join ukelele teacher Denis Salgado for this beginner session, and get some expert help to get started with playing the ukelele. This workshop is most suited to children aged 8-11. No experience needed, and ukuleles are provided! Kindly supported by St Martin's Church.

Think you can break a World Record challenge? Head to the Hayward Room and try a range of weird, wonderful and wacky challenges and see if you can top the leaderboard!

Bad Art Night

17:30-18:30 in the Hayward Room.

Join us at the Library for our Bad Art Night! No need to worry about making the perfect masterpiece as we'll be challenging you to make your worst piece of art. All art materials will be provided and more importantly there will be snacks. Most suitable for young people aged 11-14. This event is free and there's no need to book.

Join us for a fun-filled Read to the Beat Summer Reading Challenge event! Head to the Hayward Room on the second floor of the Library for stories, crafts and creative activities inspired by this year's musical theme. Whether you love reading, making or creating, there's something for everyone to enjoy.

Most suitable for children aged 3–8, though all ages are welcome. No booking needed – just drop in and join the fun!
