Family Stories Special Edition - Accessibility Focus

Some people need a little extra support when it comes to communication—and that’s absolutely okay! Everyone deserves to be heard, understood, and included. That’s why during Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) Awareness Month, we’re shining a light on the many ways children can express themselves.

Whether it’s using signs, communication boards or communication devices, AAC offers children alternative ways to communicate, especially during fun and meaningful moments like shared reading.

For this Family Stories session, Alida and Amelia from the Speech and Language Therapy team invite all families to join us in reading and sharing stories with some interactive additions. We'll explore how to use different modes of communication while enjoying books—making story time more inclusive, interactive, and joyful for everyone.

It's free and there's no need to book.
