Literary Beards

Literary Beards

Introducing 'Literary Beards' - a free, public art exhibition at the Guille-Allès Library.

When he visited the Library last May, prolific illustrator and former Children's Laureate Chris Riddell was so inspired by the story of our founders Thomas Guille & Frederick Allès (and particularly their magnificent beards) that on returning home he drew ten bearded figures from literature, from Dumbledore to Tolstoy, and donated them to us in aid of the Children's Library Project.

Thanks to the generous support of Art for Guernsey, for one week only our Hayward Room will be transformed into an art gallery to showcase these fabulous illustrations.
