Other libraries in Guernsey

While searching the catalogue you may come across items held at other libraries on the island. Members of the public can borrow from all these libraries, though they do require separate memberships.

 

The Institute of Health and Social Care Studies Library

Provides materials for education, information and research in most health and social care specialties.

Members of the public may use the Library for reference purposes and borrow books, free of charge, or obtain full membership through payment of an annual subscription fee.

 As a member of the library you are entitled to:

  • Access library facilities 24 hours a day
  • Access computer workstations, printing facilities and free Wi-Fi
  • Access health and social care related electronic journals and databases

Library fees:

Basic membership: Free access to book loans and study

Individual membership: £100 per year

Student membership: £65 per year

The Library is open Monday to Friday, 8.30 am until 5.00 pm (staffed 9 am – 4 pm)

The Priaulx Library is Guernsey's local and family history research centre.

The Library is open from 9.30 am to 5 pm on Monday to Thursday and Saturday, and on Friday from 10 am until 5 pm, excluding Public Holidays.

The Priaulx Library is free and easy to join. Non-members are welcome to use all library facilities. Members may borrow 4 non-reference books for a maximum of three weeks. Renewals can be made in person, by telephone (+44 1481 721998) or online. Overdue fines apply. Only members in Guernsey may borrow books. Books from the Priaulx Library may not leave the island.

Guernsey College of Further Education Library 

Students may borrow up to 6 books for up to three weeks. Books may be renewed in person or by telephone. Members of the public are welcome to join and use the college libraries providing they come and sign up as a member of the public. You will need proof of address such as a driving licence.

You can borrow up to three books for up to three weeks. You can use the college libraries to study in.
