Join the Clean Earth Trust for the first Repair Café popup at the Library.
Talented volunteers will be on hand in the Dorey Room to give advice and support on mending, upcycling and altering clothes and textiles, as well as repair help and advice for small household goods and electrical items.
Even if you don't have anything to repair, feel free to pop by to have a chat and find out more about the Repair Café and enjoy some of the delicious cake that will be on sale.
If you are planning on bringing an item then let us know by booking a ticket so we have an idea of numbers. We will try to get as many repairs done as we can but we will operate on a first come first served basis.
What is the Repair Café?
The Repair Café, an initiative of the Clean Earth Trust, promotes a mending mindset through passing down valuable skills and helps reduce the volume of material that end up wasted in landfill by repairing and upcycling wherever possible. With this ethos in mind, there will also be a donations bin at the at the library for any good quality clothing or bags that needs some repair, or textiles and fabrics which the charity will use for future projects including items like buttons and zips.
