To reserve items on the library catalogue
You will need your library card number to place a reservation
Online reservations can only be placed for items that are already in stock. If you wish to reserve something that is on order or not yet in stock please contact a member of staff
Reservations placed online are NOT available the same day. If you want to reserve an item that is not on loan, for collection the same day, please contact a member of staff.
If you wish to reserve an item you must be a member of the library where the item is held; e.g. a Guille-Allès Library member cannot reserve items held at the College of Further Education.
To enter the catalogue click on the Online Catalogue button above
Once you are in the catalogue click on Search to look for the item you want
Click on Show copy to see if the item is available or on loan. If it is on loan and you want to reserve it, click on Request.
Enter your library card number. Omit the first three letters (e.g. GYP) and enter the next 8 digits, e.g. 12345678. If you have only 6 digits please contact a member of staff.
The reserve work screen tells you if there are already any reservations for this item. The reservation will remain active for one year from the date the reservation is placed. There is a charge for making a reservation for adult library members (including visitors and CD library users).
The collection site is the site where the item is held – select the site from the pull-down menu.
Continue with the reservation by clicking on Confirm. The reservation will be confirmed. If the reservation is unsuccessful please contact a member of staff for assistance.
To return to the list click on Return to your search results.

When reserving items ensure you check the format. Do not reserve a video or sound recording if you want a book. Many fiction titles are available in a variety of formats. If you do not mind which format you have you will need to place a request for each one; otherwise reserve the item in the format you want.
