The Book Prescription Scheme

This scheme is aimed at helping people to help themselves. A list of books has been specifically chosen by professionals for their quality as treatments for individuals experiencing mental health difficulties. All of these books can be borrowed for free at the Guille-Allès library.

‘Anyone who has looked into buying a self help book will know that there are hundreds of books available for each mental health difficulty. We have narrowed this down for people by finding the most effective books available for the most common mental health problems’
Dr Beverley Tachon, Acting Manager – Psychological Therapies Service.

Lists of the books included in the scheme are available at your GP surgery or at Guille-Allès library, with titles covering problems such as depression, anxiety, eating disorders, anger, and many more.
