Community services
The Guille-Allès Library Community Service supports institutions and voluntary organisations throughout the Bailiwick of Guernsey by providing deposit loan collections of junior and adult fiction and non-fiction, large print books and spoken word recordings.
In the entrance hall of the library we are able to display notices of local events and groups.
Deposit loan collections include
- Alderney Library
- Guernsey Cheshire Home
- Russells Day Centre
- St John’s Care in the Community library service
- St Julian’s House
Before doing so, you will need to consider certain aspects of the service you are planning:
- Nominate a member of your organisation, who will be responsible for the care and return of all items to the Guille-Allès Library.
- Decide on the sort of titles you would like and how often you would like to change them. The Librarian will be happy to discuss all these arrangements.
- The maximum loan period is one year.
- The library will try to match loans to your organisation’s profile, although this may not always be possible. Popular titles and recent fiction, for example, will be subject to frequent recalls.
- A list of titles on loan to you will be provided.
Community Information
The library tries to accommodate notices of local events and groups and to make information leaflets available.
Space is also available to mount displays in the Assembly Room on the first floor of the library. Please contact the library for details.
Engage Guernsey
This is a Community Information Database compiled by the library. Local organisations may add their details to the database and also include a link to their own website. Please contact the library for more information. To look at Engage Guernsey and to search the database click here.
